Where to Find Story Writing Ideas Every novelist or short story writer has heard the question many times:  “Where do you get your ideas?”  The answer is always the same: from everywhere. Many aspiring writers believe they need to wait for a sudden flash of inspiration, but generating ideas is more of a process than an epiphany. Pay attention. Pay attention to what’s going on around you. Those snippets of  conversation  you overheard at dinner, the car you witnessed going the wrong way down the freeway during rush hour, the elderly man trudging down a dark alley calling the name Maryanne repeatedly, all could spark a story. Although some of the events you describe may be extraordinary, they don’t have to be. They just have to be interesting. Jot things down. Make a habit of noticing what’s going on around you, from the exciting to the mundane, by writing things down as they catch your attention. Use your phone’s note-taking app to capture moments. If you’re old...
VERBS Verbs are the action words in a sentence that describe what the subject is doing. Along with nouns, verbs are the main part of a sentence or phrase, telling a story about what is taking place. In fact, without a verb, full thoughts can’t be properly conveyed, and even the simplest sentences, such as  Maria  sings ,  have one. Actually, a verb can be a sentence by itself, with the subject, in most case you, implied, such as,  Sing ! and  Drive ! EXAMPLES Mark  eats  his dinner quickly. We  went  to the market. You  write  neatly in your notebook. They  thought  about all the prizes in the competition. Physical Verbs – Definition and Examples Physical verbs are action verbs. They describe specific physical actions. If you can create a motion with your body or use a tool to complete an action, the word you use to describe it is most likely a physical verb. For example,  Joe  sat  in his chair ,  the ...
DIGESTIVE SYSTEM The digestive system allows us to utilize food from such diverse sources as meat from an animal and the roots of a plant, and utilize them as an energy source. Whether it is the ability to coordinate the chewing of the food without injuring our tongue and lips or the propulsion of the food from the stomach into the duodenum while releasing the appropriate enzymes, our digestive system allows us to manage the process without much thought and often while performing other tasks. PARTS OF DIGESTIVE SYSTEM MOUTH The mouth is the entry point for food, but the digestive system often gets ready before the first piece of food even enters our mouth. Saliva is released by the salivary glands into our oral cavity  when we smell food. Once the food enters the mouth, chewing (mastication) breaks food into smaller particles that can be more easily attacked by the enzymes in saliva. PHARYNX AND ESOPHAGUS The pharynx (throat) is the transition area from the mouth to the...
CHRISTMAS   Christmas is celebrated to remember the  birth of Jesus Christ , who Christians believe is the Son of God. The name 'Christmas' comes from the Mass of Christ (or Jesus). A Mass service (which is sometimes called Communion or Eucharist) is where Christians remember that Jesus died for us and then came back to life. The 'Christ-Mass' service was the only one that was allowed to take place after sunset (and before sunrise the next day), so people had it at Midnight! So we get the name Christ-Mass, shortened to Christmas. Christmas is now celebrated by people around the world , whether they are Christians or not. It's a time when family and friends come together and remember the good things they have. People, and especially children, also like Christmas as it's  a time when you give and receive presents ! Christmas is the time for connecting with family near and far, and these Merry Christmas wishes will help you spread the Christmas cheer this holiday...
GLOBAL WARMING Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels . Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface. Normally, this radiation would escape into space—but these pollutants, which can last for years to centuries in the atmosphere, trap the heat and cause the planet to get hotter. That's what's known as   the greenhouse effect . In the United States, the burning of fossil fuels to make electricity is the largest source of heat-trapping pollution, producing about two billion tons of CO2 every year. Coal-burning power plants are by far the biggest polluters. The country’s second-largest source of carbon pollution is the transportation sector, which generates about 1.7 billion ton...
POLLUTION Pollution  is the introduction of  harmful  materials into the  environment . These harmful materials are called  pollutant s. Pollutants can be natural, such as  volcanic ash . They can also be created by human activity, such as trash or  runoff  produced by factories. Pollutants damage the quality of air, water, and land. TYPES OF POLLUTION :- Air pollution        refers to the release of harmful contaminants (chemicals, toxic gases, particulates, biological molecules, etc.) into the earth’s atmosphere. These contaminants are quite detrimental and in some cases, pose serious health issues.
